Thorn Technologies to Upgrade Library’s Website with Mobile-Friendly Responsive Design
Thorn Technologies is proud to announce that it has been awarded a contract by Howard County Library System (HCLS) to redesign its website and incorporate a responsive layout to accommodate reading on all devices, including tablets and smartphones.
The HCLS website is approximately seven years old and does not meet the standards of today’s modern web design and development technology. With the increasing use of smartphones and tablets to access websites, HCLS desires a website that is built with a responsive web design to provide a positive experience for users of any screen size or device type. Additionally, HCLS would like to update the interface of the website with a more modern look and feel.
Thorn Technologies will develop the site with WordPress, the popular content management system, and leverage a custom theme that provides a responsive layout. The use of WordPress will allow HCLS staff to easily update the website with new content and data in real-time. Thorn Technologies will also import over 700 pages of content from HCLS’s legacy website content management system and integrate the new site with three third-party back-end systems used to provide library features such as new book releases, book availability, and more.
